Have you ever had a massage so thorough and amazing that it made you want to cry a little? Honest to goodness, I had me one of those this past Tuesday... and boy, did I need it.  Thank you April.  See, I had dropped my only child off at her new apartment in Greensboro after she attempted to drive there herself and suffered a car break down about an hour and a half away from Asheville.  *sigh*  Exactly... was hoping for a less dramatic 'kid flying from the nest' dealio... but did not get it.  So, Monday... kid launching into her college years (leaving me with an empty nest) and then a 6 hour round trip to drop her off that I didn't intend to do because her car died.

Can you say....maybe I was just a wee bit constricted in my body?  Maybe The Momma needed a little nurturing and care?  Hell yes, I did.  And thank you, Universe, for sending me April to help me rebalance myself with abundant, joyful ME time after the Monday of the Empty Nest.  I know that April was doing the massage, but I honestly felt like I was being cared for by a Cosmic Momma through her....and I just went limp and surrendered to the process.  I remember thinking, "I gratefully receive whatever nurturing and assistance I need at this time.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Whew.  April has Mojo. 

April came into the store one day in May before I facilitated the Lightbody Activation Ceremony at the White Horse Music and Spirit Center in Black Mountain.  See, April was due to fly to the UK to have her Reiki Master Attunement INSIDE Stonehenge that coming Monday.  She felt strongly prompted to do the Lightbody Activation before going.  Well... shoot, when she told me that, I absolutely got the impression that the timing of the workshop had everything to do about her going to Stonehenge... since the Lightbody Activation work basically plugs people into the Earth Grid System, Christ Consciousness Grids, and to the Tapestry of Light of other Lightworkers on the planet.  Get what I'm saying... ? 

So, sweet... modest April.  Yep.  Not fooling me.  I'm thanking you for your service.  I've got no idea what you may have Held Space for while you were in the UK, but I'm grateful.  Mmm hmm.

I actually requested that she help me in the next Lightbody Activation Event that I did at the Spirit Science Retreat on Father's Day.  See, I needed help doing the process because there were over 50 people participating in that event and I needed some helpers that I could trust with this sacred process.  I asked April and Noelle to assist me and they both said yes without hesitation.  This really wasn't a paid gig, so to speak... so I appreciated that I had people who were called to do the work regardless of that. :) 

On the road trip to find the farm where the Lightbody event was being held, it came out in conversation that April had been in Mexico and spent time studying with Hunbatz Men.  Ex-squeeze me?  So, there is another sacred site she's plugging into...umm...with Hunbatz (flippin) Men?  Right.  OK Girlfriend... yep.  Nice rainbow, by the way.  :)  Thanks again, for... uh... whatever it was.

Anyway, so April.  Why am I describing her in such esoteric terms?  Because she won't.  It's just not how she rolls.  She is so low key and modest, something I truly, truly love about her.  You guys know the difference between people who are ego attached to their work and people who are not.  You know how refreshing it is to be in the presence of a person who is coming from a Place of Love and Heart Service.  She loves being a massage therapist.  She loves being able to help people feel better.   It was, quite literally, one of the best massages I have had in my life.  So, she is very competent and well trained at her work.  But I'm here to tell you.... there is serious ~ value added~ stuff going on during your regular world massage session.  I don't always know details, and I try not to make conclusions at this point of my development, but....Dude.  Seriously.  That was NOT just a massage.  You go Girl.  Thank you for everything.

Citrine Crystals - The Real Thing, Baby.

I wish I were the size of a fairy so I could roll around in this basket.

True unadulterated citrine.  It's ~divine~.  It's like petrified, golden sunlight.    Natural, As-Mother-Made-It, citrine is actually quite rare.  There is some coming out of Brazil, some from Africa, and some from Madagascar, but most of the "citrine" on the market is actually heat-treated amethyst.  See, they take amethyst that is too light to sell well as amethyst, and they "cook it" until it turns that brassy orange color. 

And you know what,  I dunno, heat-treating rocks doesn't offend me nearly as much as irradiation offends me.  I have some heat-treated citrine in the house that I've used for energy work before and it's fine... but... it is definitely different than natural citrine.  They are, well... truthfully, two different crystals.

The heat-treated citrine (that began as light amethyst)...hmm, has a more assertive energy after being heated.  It is like a delicate, shy person went through an extreme "motivational" seminar to change its personality to become more "fiery", and then  kinda over-did it, becoming a bit brassy.  In fact, heat-treated citrine is probably an excellent crystal for those who are shy that would like to become more assertive, or to add a little more momentum and oomph to generally slow moving, peaceful energies.  Heat treated citrine is, quite literally, the poster child for having someone light a fire under your bottom when you need to shift from passive to active energies.  So, hear me when I say that I am not ~dissing~ it.  It has its place in the world... and when you cannot find natural citrine, use it.  Heat-treated citrine has a more orange color, than yellow, however... so it's more a belly chakra energy than solar plexus.  I bet that a lax artist or writer might really benefit from hanging on to some of the treated citrine to get a fire going under the creative process.  Perhaps it would be good to resolve writer's or artist's creative blocks. 

Anyway, I want to discuss citrine, The Real Thing.  It is a totally differerent than the other stuff.  The energies of true citrine are not as assertive as treated citrine, but they are higher, lighter, and more, I dunno... "divine" probably does describe it.  Natural citrine holds the energy of both the yellow and golden rays... and it tickles you both in the solar plexus as well as the crown.  There is a decidedly angelic quality about natural citrine.  If you paired natural citrine with a "spiritual helper" stone, like angelite or celestite, my guess is that you would be able to plug into some fairly high levels of vibrational assistance, or you could spend the time to attune to your own Higher Self that maintains connection to to those lighter vibrational spaces within. 

Yes, we all know that citrine is a major prosperity stone.  Also, as per Melody of "Love is in the Earth", it also shares "never needs cleansing" qualities with kyanite.  Kyanite is also an angelic stone, or should I say "archangelic" stone.  Because of this, natural citrine helps to shed lower vibrational energies from your field.  If you are feeling low or depressed (after you have seen your doctor please), sometimes natural citrine can help to "lighten your mood".  This may not work if you are chemically out of synch, which is different than needing to shed emotional congestion that makes you feel heavy. 

Am I a Golden Smoky or Smoky Citrine? *scratches head*

                                   

Then, there are the miraculous and amazing citrines... or are they smokies.... err, well, they are both.  We call them Smoky Citrine or Golden Smoky, same rock.  This happens when natural citrine and natural smoky have a baby and live happily ever after.  Those specimens sometimes are citrine with smoky phantoms.  Yum.  The combination of citrine and smoky is well... hmm.... smoking. (I know, that was weak. I haven't had my second cup of coffe yet.  I'll be funnier later.)  The citrine maintains that golden ray, high vibe thing and the smoky pulls all that wonderful high stuff deep down through your toes and into the Earth.  Smoky is inherently protective and stabilizing and provides excellent boundary integrity, so it's like the citrine energy is coming with it's own "bouncer" that makes sure that all the wonderful spiritual shifts and sloughing off of heavier energy is, well... good and permanent.

Citrine with smoky phantoms (distinctive shape of an inner ghost crystal in smoky) can also be used for bringing light and healing to past-lives, as well as giving you terrific support for any "inner shadow" healing and integration work.  All a bonus.

I would highly recommend having at least one little natural citrine in your collection.  They are expensive, as they are so rare, but a little goes a long way.

My favorite uses:

Pocket Rock/Nearness: When you are feeling down and need a big infusion of beautiful, bright, high vibrational energy to counteract the funk, keep your citrine with you.  Get as much "nearness" with it as you can.  Breathe with it, stick it in your bra for the day, go outside in the sun with it, just stick it in your pocket. 

Crystalline Grids:  Use the citrine as a center stone unless you can afford 6 at a time, which most of us can't.  A nice, juicy little point or a nice, juicy tumbled stone the size of a walnut would be able to hold the center of a grid just fine.  Citrine for high light spiritual connection: add some angelite or celestite.  Citrine for abundance and prosperity: this is actually going to be my grid for July, so I'll have a whole blog article on it, but add stones like peridot, aventurine, ruby, pyrite, emerald, jade, that kind of thing.  Citrine for mood support: add lepidolite, selenite, Himalayan salt, labradorite, topaz, red jasper, that kind of thing.  <And as always, ignore me if you have strong prompts to use other rocks in those combos.  Your intuition and inner prompts should trump all advice ever given to you at this level.>

Gem Elixir:  Drink it in, Baby.  Citrine is fine for direct contact methods of gem elixir making.  Plop your sweet baby gently in a large glass of clean water, put a little platic wrap over the top so you don't collect bugs, and leave it in the sunshine for an hour or so.  Then, and this is an IMPORTANT step, hold the glass in both hands while saying, "Expand, Bless, Optimize, Stabilize, Amplify, and Seal".  Wait until the sealing process comes to a conclusion (you may feel the energy kick in, build, then come back down). Then drink and enjoy.  See the blog on Gem Elixirs if you want to learn more about this process.

Coin Purse:  Citrine is famous for being an abudance stone, and who doesn't need a little infusion of that, eh?  Get a wee one and put it in your coin purse.. or leave one in the prosperity section of your home via Feng Shui.

Repeating Numbers Like 11:11, and So On...

So what's all the hullabaloo about repeating numbers anyway?

Do you find yourself looking up at the clock at exactly a repeating number so often that it seems not quite a coincidence?

Maybe you did a Google search on it and ended up getting such an eyefull of weird-ass information that you just backed away slowly?  But the pattern of your looking up at just those precise times continues and every time... makes you go ......"hmmmmmmmmmmm".

Yeah, you and like a squillion other people.

There are a lot of "conclusions" about what this number thing is all about.  Probably my favorite is from Solara's book that is simply titled "11:11".  It is weird-ass information, but so what?  My weird ceiling is pretty high.  Whatever. 

The long and the short of it is that repeating numbers are activational codes that are tugging at our awareness because they serve as... I dunno... a type of spiritual alarm clock, I guess. 

But why an alarm clock at all? 

The working theory at the moment is that humanity is on the verge of a jump in consciousness of some sort (groovy) and there are some who volunteered to either be of some assistance in this process or to pave the way by hacking through the jungle of evolution themselves to make it easier for the next chap. 

A lot of people like to make "conclusions" about what this jump in consciousness is about, and who THEY are all about (being a volunteer and all), and throw around a lot of terms like "awakening",  "ascension", "5th dimension", "starborn"....yada, yada. 

But see.... here's the deal, in my humble opinion.

So what.

I want to share the power of that statement with you as things start going a little odd in your life. 

So, maybe you are on Earth because you are "here to help"....whatever that means.

Ok, cool.  So what?

Perhaps you've dropped down the rabbit hole already and are swirling around in the amazing, miraculous, ever-present sense of Spirit working in and through your life....

Ok, cool.  So what?

I want to encourage you to release yourself from conclusions about whatever this process is... and why.  Clearly, something weird-ass is happening.  There is a spiritual, bigger-than-us phenomena going on.  The repeating numbers are just one little "Hey, something is going on here.  Deal." among many.

I want to encourage you to say, "So what."

I want to encourage you to read or watch whatever you want, listen to whatever theories are out there... expose yourself to the vast collection of folks who claim to "know" something... and once you put it through your wonderful brain-stuff.... say, "So what."

I decided a long time ago to abandon the Path for Knowledge.  It just wasn't very satisfying.  I tried to make conclusions.  I held strong beliefs of "what is" at some point... and I have to say, every single one of them got beaten out of me.  Well, all but the one about a being One.  That one seemed to stick.

Instead of trying to walk the Path of Knowledge, which kept me hyper-focused on the world of wonderful, Cosmic Me... I hopped over to the Path of Service.

Let me tell you what I do now when I see the repeating numbers.... which I still see, all the flipping time. 

I pray.

And here is the prayer that I use:

"I request for the Highest Possible Outcome to unfold on Earth and for Humanity within Divine Will with as much Ease, Grace, Mercy, Compassion, and Love as possible. Amen."

Hut Hike.

So what if your soul came from another dimension or star system, afterall?  If it is true for you, it is true for a squillion of us, maybe ALL of us.  Your personal myth is entertaining and all, but is it really necessary to get to work?

I encourage you to take those bits of miraculous, Spirit-knocking-on-your-door moments...and simply Get To Work.  Spin and weave the tales of wonderful, Cosmic You after you pray.   

You do not have to be a fully enlightened being to pray.  You do not have to be a Reiki Master, or some other Masterful Yada Yada, to pray. 

Pray however you pray.  Say the Lord's Prayer if you want (it's actually pretty energetically sound, as far as intention sets go)... send love down into the Earth Grid system if you want.... connect into the 50'th dimenion of the Realm of the Beneficent Hoo Ha, if that is what you believe, but intend the Highest Good within Divine Will to happen Here NOW.

I encourage you to use those pregnant moments of wonder, when you feel deep down in your bones that a spiritual reality exists and is ~looking right at you~, as a call to action.

Someday, I hope...we understand all this weird-ass, ambiguous stuff.  Perhaps when the job is done (whatever that means), we will all be in some groovy, cosmic Cafe, chatting about the good ole days on Earth and having ourselves a good cosmic belly laugh over the trippy journey.

Ok, so I agree... something a bit weird-ass is going on and maybe we are Cosmic Beings on a mission.

Maybe we are.  Maybe we're not.  Maybe everything is.  Whatever.  So what.  We ain't going to clarify it here at this level.  So let. it. go.  Hold concepts of knowing in an open hand, not a sweaty fist.  Your sanity will thank you for it.

And say it with me........."So what. So what. So what." 

Until then... hows about we just get in the game?

Inner Door Work: Cord Cutting

Hello Darlings...

Inner Door work is the equivalent to "cord cutting" work.  I just use the visual symbol of a door.  It works.

 

OK, consider that every person with whom you have interacted in any meaningful way throughout your entire life has some type of energetic connection to you.  For purposes of this work, I would prefer you visualize these connections as doorways instead of cords.  Each door represents a single connection.  Now imagine that all of these doors are in a single large, cylindrical building, many stories tall. 

I kinda see mine like the Leaning Tower of Pisa...

Except, it ain't leaning... and I'm on the inside...and it's way, way, way taller than Pisa.  The doors are all on the outer edge of the building, facing in, and overlooking the ground floor, where I imagine that I stand when I do this work.  Have you ever been to an Embassy Suites where all doors over-look the lobby?  That's what I'm talking about.  You can see your doors, or at least the floors... regardless of how many stories it may be.

OK... Doors.  Now imagine that the deeper the connection, the closer to "ground floor" the doors are that symbolize your relationship/energetic connection to a single person.  Obviously, your immediate family is ground floor and your good friends are probably second floor... but, even those folks to whom you may no longer have an active relationship, but to whom you did share a very deep bond at some point...may be situated on lower floors too.  The less emotional of a connection, the higher up they are.

And guess what, every person with whom you have had sexual contact with... yep.... that is a deep energetic bonding.... whether you had a significant emotional relationship with them or not, is going to be on a lower floor.  One night stands, yep.  That cute frat boy you hooked up with and who then dodged you the rest of the year, yep.  That amazing dude (or dudette) at the Panic show, yep.  Your first love, yep.  All of your ex-boyfriends, yep.  All of your ex-husbands, yep.  Get the idea?  If you did the Diddly with someone, they have a significant door.  I can hear some of you saying, "Oh Shit."  I won't tell (glass houses and all...)  It's okay.  But... yes... the more doors you have G'friend... the more "at risk" you are of inappropriate influence messing around in your system. 

Now... if you do not practice any type of "Boundary Integrity" or "Energetic/Spiritual Protection", consider that those Inner Doors are not secured.  I don't know about you, but I have some ex-boyfriends that I definitely do not want to have energetic access to me in any way, shape, or form.  (For those of you who have had very sticky issues with individuals, I bet the dedicated "Cord Cutting" work for a single relationship is fabulous and absolutely worth it.)  But, not just them, really... I do not want anyone I have ever had a relationship with, on any level, to have energetic access to me in any way that is not in Divine Alignment or that doesn't support my Highest Good.  

Don't go away mad... just go away, kind of thing.    

The Inner Door Work was developed as a way to do a full-sweeping, system-wide scan and rectification of any inappropriate energetic connection to you through all of your relationships throughout this life-time.   

Why?  Because 'inappropriate influence' can push you around a bit, sometimes without your even knowing it.  If you are sensitive or empathic, good golly Miss Molly, it's even worse.  Life is hard enough just handling and healing our own "yuck".  You don't really want to have other people's "yuck" oozing in your general direction because you simply did not disallow it, right?

Seems like human beings should have come with some fine print, so we know these things ahead of time.  It would save a lot of grief.  But, whatever... we figure it out as we go, I guess.

To initiate Inner Door Work.....

1)  Connect in with your Higher Self through God and your Spiritual Helpers, whomever they are.  I find that asking for the "appropriate" Spiritual Helpers through God works for me, instead of asking for specific ones.  If you follow a particular spiritual tradition, it makes sense for you to use it in your work.  For example, my Catholic friends would be hitting up Big J for this, or perhaps Mother Mary. 

2)  State your intention to initiate Inner Door Work, which means that you want a full scan and rectification of all your connections, such that only that which is in your Highest Good is allowed access... and all that which is not in your Highest Good is not allowed access. 

3)  Imagine yourself within your "Hall of Doors".... or that imaginary, symbolic building I yacked about earlier.  Imagine your Spiritual Helper(s) standing next to you, ready to do the heavy lifting.  You are going to allow your Spiritual Helpers through God to make the decisions as to door "positioning", okay?  If you KNOW you have a troubled connection with someone... definitely discuss it with your Spiritual Helpers. 

4)  Energy Command #1:  "I request to close all Inner Doors that should be closed, now please." 

Imagine hearing a bunch of doors slamming shut from all levels of the building. Slam. Slam. Slam. Slam. Slam.  Thank you.. thank you... thank you. 

5) Energy Command #2:  "I request to lock and seal all Inner Doors that should be locked and sealed, now please."

Oh gosh, do you hear all those locks turning?  You may even see some doors being boarded shut.  Word. 

6) Energy Command #3:  "I request to have guarded all Inner Doors that need guarding, now please."

Probably the doors that are boarded up, now have a guard posted in front of it.  Don't be alarmed if your "guard" is an animal.  For whatever reason, Griffin's and the like sometimes show up for guard duty... sometimes angels... whatever.  It is what it is.  It's your head, after all. 

7)  Energy Command #4: "I request to cleanse, clear, and purify all Inner Hallways, now please."

OK, you won't see this part.. cause it's on the other side of the door.  Basically imagine a nice group of Warrior Guardian Angels going down these "halls" with blow torches of Holy Fire... burning the yuck "between" you and whomever the door represents.  If you want to do forgiveness and release work here, golly, that would probably be groovy for you.

8)  Energy Command #5:  "I request to open all Inner Doors that should be open, now please."

Yes, that's right...  how about asking to empower the connections that are truly good for you... the people, places, events, opportunities that you should connect with.  I imagine this as new light and fresh air streaming into the building... so refreshing.  Mmmm... good people.  Come to me. :)

9)  Energy Command #6:  "I request to Bless, Optimize, Stabilize, Amplify, and Seal this work under Divine Will, such that it maintains integrity in perpetuity. Amen and Thank You."

OK... that's it.  Inner Door Work.

Now do it again for your "Soul Level Hall of Doors" too, which represents all connections through time to all your past lives, basically.  Same exact protocol... just intend for your Hall of Doors to represent your Soul Self, not just your here and now self. 

Not a bad bit of energetic re-calibration to do on a slow day, I figure.

Ummmm..... perhaps a nice salt bath afterward.

How to Make Gem Elixirs: Drink the Energy of Your Rocks

I love me some buzzy water.  I wanted to share the handout I use in my "Fun with Gem Elixirs" workshop.  I think some of you will enjoy the strategies I've learned to use over the years.  I'm sure none of you are shocked that I don't create elixirs in a traditional way, right?  I have learned so much by just playing and having fun.  If you have any questions, just let me know!

Making Gem Elixirs

Safety First: Some stones are toxic, brittle, or dissolve in water. If you are unsure, use non-contact methods for creating your gem elixir.

Using a “Bottle Blank”: You can prepare glass dropper/spray bottle blanks, which will allow you to easily facilitate “non-contact” elixir preparation for any method you like. The most potent strategy I have found is to prepare your bottle by filling it ½ with distilled water, then add one small clean crystal that volunteers to be a “vibration keeper”, a pinch of sea salt, then top off the bottle with vodka or brandy for preservation. If you prefer preservation without alcohol, use a good quality, organic apple cider vinegar as the entire fluid in the bottle. The bottle blank is used in the elixir making process while fully sealed, so no other rocks come into physical contact with the fluid you intend to ingest. You can get bottles in various colors. I find that the amber colored bottles are great with solar infusions, or more physically aimed elixirs. The cobalt colored bottles seem great for lunar, or more spiritually aimed elixirs. Clear bottles are fine too, but you should store them out of direct light or in the fridge.

Properly Sealing the Elixir: At the completion of a “charging” process for creating elixirs, it is very important to ~seal~ the work so that it maintains its integrity over time. You may use the energy command, “Bless, Optimize, Stabilize, Amplify, and Seal”, to do this.

Traditional Method: Sunlight or Moonlight Infusions of Water in a Glass Container: The light/energy of the sun or moon are used to infuse the liquid with the vibration of the stone(s) by leaving the stones in a glass container (contact or non-contact) outside for a period of time of 1 hour or more. Plastic wrap may be placed over the container to prevent debris from getting into the liquid.

Gem Elixir by Crystalline Grid: This method uses the vortex and energy field created by a crystalline grid to infuse the liquid with the energies of the stones in the grid. A small glass with water (a quartz center stone that is okay to be in water can be used in the glass), or bottle blank, is placed at the “center stone” position, the grid activated, and the fluid allowed to charge, ideally, for a 24 hour period.

Gem Elixir by Singing Bowl: A crystal singing bowl makes a potent and quick gem elixir. Fill the bottom of the singing bowl with clean water and then place the stones into the water. You may also place a bottle blank into the bowl if you want to maintain non-contact with the stones in the singing bowl. Sing the bowl for up to 5 minutes while maintaining the intention and presence to create a gem elixir. This method is super quick and tends to be highly “buzzy” as well.

Direct Download/Intention Method/Cooperative Spiritual Energy Work: Connect to your spiritual assistance and state your intentions for the elixir (what you want to support, etc), then while holding the stone(s) against or around the glass, say, “I request to create a gem elixir for my Highest Good, now please.” You can connect with your spiritual assistance while holding a glass, without a stone, and request to receive what you need, “I request to download whatever is in my Highest Good into this fluid, now please.”  I use this method the most because it's simple and it works just fine. 

Getting All Funky With It: Don’t be afraid to play. I often combine gem elixir, flower essence, direct intention downloads, Reiki, and whatever feels cool into one, nifty vibrational party in a bottle. Ask for guidance and then allow yourself to play. Play. Play. Play.

Black Moonstone: Womb Stone




Mmmmmmoonstone.  I think a lot of us who have energetic sensitivity are fans of the ~family feldspar~ (labradorite, rainbow moonstone, sunstone, amazonite, etc).  Sometimes they have a colorful flash, as with rainbow moonstone or labradorite... and sometimes they have the flashy, cats-eye chatoyancy.  Whatever, it's all awesome.

All moonstone is connected to the Divine Feminine, water, intuition, dreams, visions, fertility, and the ~female mystique~. 

There are various shades of moonstone from the milky white, grey, peach, and less often, black.  True black moonstone is somewhat more rare and can be found (as far as I have heard) only in India and Madagascar.  This is because Madagascar and India used to be connected before the tectonic plates did their boogie to their current location.  They share several of the same mineral resources for this reason.

The first day I began working at Enter the Earth, there was a black moonstone display that was so rich and dark that I thought it was smoky quartz at first.  When I finally had a moment to actually fix my eyes and senses on the display, I just stood there and marveled.  I had never seen moonstone so dark.  Some of the luscious, hand-polished "pebbles" were deep black with a stunning silver sheen (silver is another Divine Feminine color) and others had the black with a beautiful peach within it.  

I have to say that most of the time, I do not grab a rock to deal with a physical issue.  I normally go to the plant kingdom for physical issues.  I had one exception in my collection many years ago.  I had this wonderful, rough peach moonstone that I would flop on my belly when I was having bad menstrual cramps.  Without fail, the peach moonstone (peach corresponds to the belly chakra as a light orange color) actually helped my cramps go away.  Womb wonderful.  I eventually gifted my cramp relieving stone to a lovely lady who was pregnant and about to have a baby.  I figured that she needed it more than I did, and that was that.  I haven't found a replacement for that special piece until I began working at Enter the Earth.  Ahhh... sweet relief.  Pass the chocolate and my black moonstone, please.... and just back away slowly.   

The black moonstone from Madagascar is definitely a ~womb stone~ (Isn't it cool how womb stone even sounds like moonstone?).  I have a nice sized sphere of it, but then I had to go back and get some pocket rocks for those times when... well... being a woman is uncomfortable.  I feel that these beautiful and unique moonstones are rock #1 to support the workings of our regenerative Lady Bits.  It would be the first stone I recommend to anyone who was pregnant, having troubles/pain with their lady plumbing, or who wanted to encourage fertility.  Keep in mind, that I normally do not recommend rocks for physical issues, but with moonstone, I make an exception.  Obviously, do not use moonstone in lieu of actual medical treatment, okay?  I, nor the moonstone, are doctors.   

 

Many also connect black moonstone to "new moon" energies, which corresponds to the birth of new things... from babies, projects, to ideas.  So, if you are about to start something important and new, the black moonstone would still be a good stone to grab.  I also like it in crystalline grids from anything from intuition, creativity, fertility, connection to any counter-part of the Divine Feminine, to healing shadow, and so on.   I would absolutely love it in a "birth grid" during labor (with every other color of moonstone, rose quartz, and lepidolite)... but I recommend setting it up ~under~ the bed/delivery table because if I had had a rock in my hand during labor, I might have tossed it at my husband's head at some point. I'm pretty sure I am not alone.    

If you'd like it as a moon-time relieving rock, I recommend that you either get two smaller polished rocks, so you can stuff them in your pockets... or one really hunky polished or rough piece to flop on your belly at home.  If you want to amp up the effectiveness, just imagine breathing the moonstone energy into your womb area, relaxing the tension.  Also recommended, chocolate, wine, a good chick flick, and a box of tissues.  You might as well roll around in your femininity and make it a party.

Smoky Quartz: Ally for the Sensitive

Thank you Smoky, for helping me brave the World-at-Large...

Okay, so why smoky quartz?  First, if you are a "sensitive" person, like I am, you definitely need smoky quartz for expanded energetic/spiritual protection, aka "boundary integrity". 

How do you know if you are one of these people?  Hehe, I've got a great measure. 

On a scale of 1-10, how upsetting is the idea of going into a Walmart during the holiday season? 

Seriously, that is a great measure of how sensitive you are to outside energetic influence.  If you cannot hack Walmart during the holidays because it makes you feel all squirrel, uneasy, and agitated... congratulations, you are likely fairly energetically sensitive.  When I first began to open up energetically, there was no way in hell that I would go into a Walmart during the holidays.  Any day, actually, it was somewhat uncomfortable... but the holidays definitely kicked my ass.  I just couldn't do it.  I've come a long way in adapting to my level of sensitivity and one of the best tools that I have found is good, ol' smoky quartz. 

Sensitivity Issues

Maybe your anxiety when in a large group of people has more to do with your being smacked around with everyones "energetic crap" than it being something about "you".  It's pretty common for sensitive folks to suffer from social anxiety because they haven't identified that it is an energetic issue.  Here is how to see if your issues are energetic and not personal: Get two juicy smoky quartz rocks to put in each pant pocket, pushed deep by the groin area.... then go out on your regular public errands and rate your comfort level vs. without the smoky.  I bet you will feel better, more settled, less twitchy. 

The additional added benefit is that smoky quartz will pull you back into your body so that you can "be here now" instead of floating around the spiritual levels without bringing it back down to Earth.  We need you on Earth.  This is where the party is.  No light can be turned on without also being grounded.  Smoky helps the Space Cadets out there to be a bit more together for functioning at this level.  My nickname has sometimes been "Spacie Stacie".  It was a runner up for blog title. :)  Anyway...

How to Choose the Best Smoky Quartz

Smoky quartz is unfortunately one of the most "messed with" stones on the market.  Distributors will artificially irradiate smoky quartz to make it darker, which they think is more "marketable", and hence, make them more money.  Blah, phooey.  I wish these dudes would smarten up already and leave the smoky quartz alone.  The Earth gives Her smoky quartz a little zap that makes them perfect.  Everything else is unnecessary.  The picture below is from a Cal Tech website that had an interesting discussion about rock treatments.  I've linked the site through the photo, if you'd like to see it.

Before and After of Irradiated Smoky Quartz

Natural smoky quartz is gently shaded and can often have wisps of "smoke" through the crystal.  Irradiated smoky quartz is super dark, pitch black... and is often so dark that you cannot see through it.  A lot of the time, man-irradiated smoky quartz has to have all sorts of care and restoration before it is "work ready".  [If you have a smoky quartz to rehabilitate from being traumatized by irradiation, I would recommend burying it or placing it by a favorite tree for an extended time.  It can be used after some special care, I've used irradiated smoky before... but it feels more like we are helping to care for ~it~ vs. it taking care of us.] 

A lot of the natural smoky quartz can have just a slight golden undertone, some people would call it a smoky citrine.  Those are lovely.  If you can find one, grab it.  Likewise, smoky quartz that has amethyst and inclusions are also awesome.  I've already written about them on an earlier blog post.

One of the most impressive things to me when I began working at Enter the Earth was that the smoky quartz and citrine in the store was natural and not treated.  I could immediately tell the difference.  The smoky "pebbles" are beautiful, juicy and hand polished... which make them perfect for "pocket stones".

Pocket Placement Importance

Larger crystals are wonderful for "boundary integrity" and the creation of "sacred space" in your home, but for going out and about in the world, I highly recommend getting two tumbled smokies that are large enough to be juicy, but small enough to fit in your front pockets. 

In crystal healing, your front pocket position corresponds to the "root chakra", which is the chakra that smoky quartz most "tickles".  So, placing the stones in your pockets, pushed down to the end near the crease of your legs (groin area) actually put smoky quartz exactly where it wants to be to do the most good for you.  Yes, wearing smoky quartz in jewelry will help too, but having the stone in the proper chakra placement ~optimizes~ the effects.  So, pocket rocks.... root chakra stones.  It works.

An alternative placement is by your feet or ankles.  If you can get a smoky quartz anklet, and put it on both feet, that would also be quite helpful.

I use one natural smoky quartz and one labradorite.  For whatever reason, the smoky goes in my left pocket and the labradorite goes in my right pocket.  It just feels right.  The smoky keeps me grounded with enhanced "boundary integrity" and my labradorite helps to fill in any weakness in my overall auric field.  Labradorite is protective and stabilizing because it makes my energy field stronger and less vulnerable to inappropriate energetic influence from others or the environment.  It's the energetic equivalent of "walking softly and carrying a big stick".  I like this combination very much, but if I didn't have a nice labradorite to put in my right pocket, I would have a smoky in each pocket.
