The black to green mineral epidote may form in quartz as long rods, like tourmaline, encrustations, or phantoms, ranging in color from slate gray to pistachio green. It is often sold under the trade names “Reiki Quartz”, “Dream Quartz”, or “Green Earth Keepers”, especially the elestiated green phantom quartz from Columbia and Madagascar. The term “Earth Keeper” refers to especially large quartz found at locations around the world, thought to support the earth's ley lines and vortices. Because large pieces of epidote included quartz are rare, we are using the name “Green Earth Healer” instead, since they carry a similar vibration, regardless of their size. {This paragraph is courtesy of Christopher Lee Matthews. I immediately began putting one in my pillow case as a sleep stone and then included them in grids for earth healing work and personal support. One got buried at a sacred site with a medicine bundle intended to dispel negative energy associated with my divorce and to help release me from inappropriate energetic connections/intent coming from my ex. (Yeah, that's why I've been so quiet lately. It's been an intense several months for me!) So, I dare say, these sweet green crystals have already made a significant, positive contribution in real ways in my own world.

Explanation of some of the symbolism received in the reading:

Woven Baskets and Nets: Clearly an energy weaver. This makes it useful for assembling end game energy work, such as manifestation work, cooperative spiritual energy work, or any work associated with pulling from multiple modalities.  

Bridge: The crystal seems to be a bridge in a few ways. One, it clearly represents both the mineral and herbal kingdom. Two, it is a bridge between the spiritual and physical levels. The elestial versions of this crystal would have magnified “bridge” qualities as elestials are also seen as a bridge between the physical and spiritual levels. It is also a bridge between humans and the natural world to help you connect in with the land for meditation, lightwork, to interact with sacred site energy, or to do corrective work on the earth, or on your personal land.

Cocoon: In my own work, energetic cocoons were a protocol in healing processes that required a person or situation to be buffered and “treated” with a particular vibration to initiate and support a healing shift of some sort that unfolded over a period of time. Cocoons are a form of protection, but generally the type of protection that is useful while in the vulnerable period of undergoing a change of state.

Green Flame/Green Torch: There is a purification element associated with the epidote included quartz that I think is best facilitated with intention. The visuals were of negativity being blasted away into green flames. In my own experience, since the initial reading, it seems that the epidote, while being a bridge, can also “burn bridges”, or interrupt inappropriate connections, such as removing negative attachments, sometimes referred to as “cords”. This would make using this kind of crystal quite useful in de-cording work, or what I call “Inner Door Work”. Also, the purification element of this crystal also specifically referenced removing negative patterns within a system, which would make this a good tool for those who are trying to do repair and correction work, or to bring their system back into alignment with their pure templates.

Anchor: As part of the same message as a bridge between the spiritual and physical worlds, this crystal helps to process and regulate energies so that they can be optimally applied at this level of being. This means, essentially, that energy healers can use the crystal to help download, regulate, and process healing energy, which is likely why one of its trade names is “Reiki Quartz”. Also, any manifestation process is enhanced by the regulation and grounding of higher vibrational energies or ideals to this level.

Cave: Caves are associated as “Womb of the Earth”, the alchemical, as a place for retreat, recovery, and rest. This is not unlike the cocoon reference. So we are getting two similar, if slightly nuanced, ideas of the crystal being like a safe natural place of refuge, recovery, and transformation.

Green Glasses: The wearing of rose colored glasses means that you see things through the lens or perspective of a loving or idealistic viewpoint. To wear “green glasses” would mean to be able to toggle your perspective more readily to the natural world, or to the Wisdom of Nature. This would make this type of crystal very useful for herbalists, global lightworkers, environmentalists, or anyone who needs to apply natural wisdom within their work. It would also help to connect to land related spirits. The perspective shift would also support you to understand the natural world better and to glean information and wisdom. For example, the epidote included quartz would make an excellent tool with which to discern the metaphysical properties of any natural object, such as a rock or plant.

Bear: Bear symbolism is associated with altered states, dreams, healing, rest, herbal medicine, and physical vitality. Bears are also, of course, associated with hibernating inside of caves, which was also mentioned by itself. So we have reference to both the sacred space of healing and becoming, as well as the totemic medicine associated with that type of space. This is likely where the “Dream Quartz” associations come in, as it seems to be indicating that it can do its work well through periods of recovery. It is possible that this kind of quartz may be able to enhance lucid dreaming or medicine dreams, as well as to help connect you to your own spiritual helpers to provide you with a healing session during your dream state.

Turtle Dragon: . Christopher saw the crystal deva riding a dragon with the shell of a turtle, which is a mythical Chinese creature. A turtle has its buffered home around him, into which he can retreat at a moments notice, so here is a third mention of this “safe going within” aspect to the energies. Turtles also represent restoration, protection, earth healing, the cosmos, longevity, and good luck. When you add the dragon, you add raw elemental power and potency, but it is expressed through the taming energy of the turtle, which would give it a steady and balanced output, particularly in increasing abundance in ones career.

Snake: Christopher had a healing experience while we were reading the crystal. His heart filled up with green fluid and then spread out to his body. He described the movement down his spine as “snake energy”. This would translate as “nadi” clearing (subtle energy channels), as well as bringing in themes of transformation, death/rebirth, healing, removal of poison, and major life transitions. Again, we see themes of purification, regulation, healing, transformation, and the removal of things that are harmful.

Emeralds: Whenever other stones are referenced within a reading, it means, “I am like this energy too.” Emeralds were mentioned within the symbols of purification. Emeralds used to be known as a way to counteract poison. In this instance, both Christopher and I were reminded of “anti-curse” work we have done to support ourselves through the negative intentions directed at us from others, and that is to what the emerald reference seemed to refer. Anti-curse work is a type of “bridge burning”, in my opinion, or de-cording from inappropriate influence.

Jade: Jade is associated with longevity, healing, strength, prosperity, endurance, fortitude, and dreams. This crosses over several previous associations. Whenever you begin to see multiple references in a reading, you are getting a good hit on the validity of its patterns of energy.

Ammolite: Ammonites regulate how energy moves and maximizes and optimizes flow within the chakra system. Ammolite, which is the opalescent layer of an ammonite, is associated with success. In this reference, we see the patterns of abundance, success, and regulation of energy, yet again.

Wormwood: This leaf is known for its medicinal uses of expelling parasites from the system. I believe that this speaks to the purification qualities, already mentioned, as energetic parasites often represent blockages within a system.

Apothecary: The apothecary reference means that the crystal can be used to magnify and maximize the potency of the herbal medicines, tinctures, or even vibrational elixirs, such as gem elixirs. The epidote included quartz would make an excellent gem elixir on it's own, or to help strengthen other blends as a “technical worker”.

Golden Moonstone: Sunny Moon, Moonie Sun.

Nader, Glorious Owner of Enter the Earth, just got in a new shipment of goodies from Madagascar not too many weeks ago. Sometimes, when he is traveling to the mines and surveying what specimens to buy, a very limited supply of one thing or another shows up and he buys it. (See,they like Nader over there and keep the "best stuff" for him.) Anyway, this golden moonstone was among the ~stop my heart~, weird and wonderful stones that showed up in the boxes.
 

What I believe about these special moonstones is that they are Divine Masculine/Divine Feminine... hmm, rectification. Obviously, the color indicates that it interacts with and "tickles" the solar plexus. The solar plexus is all about will, power, strength, action, and even charisma, like having a "sunny personality". So, this stone interacts with personal power, potency, and will. If you are out of balance in this area, you might be a bit of a bully or way too easy to push around, depending on which way your imbalance swings.

 

Golden Yellow Moonstone: Personal power rectification and realignment, whether you have an outtie or an innie.

If, for example, you have an Alpha Male at home, and all that testosterone is being amplified "ugly" by the extremes in the magnetic field of the earth lately (darn solar flares!)...this would be an excellent type of stone to have within the energy field of that man to help redirect, realign, and harmonize that manly, man energy so that it, how shall I say... chills him the heck out? Brings him back into balance with his softer side? Ummmm... yes, put a little yin in that yang already, you're knocking things over with that swing!

 

Likewise, this golden moonstone would help a female to butch up a little, if she is not embodying and holding her personal power in an appropriate way. So, yes.. put a little yang in that yin already, no one can hear you! You've got a roar in there, I just KNOW you do.

 

After hanging out with this golden moonstone for a little while, I realized that I have felt this energy before.  I had to look back into my crystal whisper archives to refresh my memory, but I did locate the reading.  The first time I was introduced to this vibration was in the form of yellow jade.  The reading was pretty long, but the jist was that the energy of the stone wasn't just a vibration, but a doorway to a type of healing space that was manned (ha!) by a collective of solar/lunar female spiritual beings.  The healing work that they assisted with was for the Sacred Union of the Divine Fe/Male.  It also spoke of "joy infusion" for those of us who were feeling weary about the unfolding world conditions...so a type of global lightworker support too.  The healing work, that I then envisioned was facilitated by solar aligned "lunar goddesses" was done while a person was asleep. 

 

Because the former reading recommended sleep work, I decided that I would explore the golden moonstone energies in my own space.  See, I have me one of those alpha males at home, and lately, he's been waaay too yang.  Since I have standing permission to do healing work on him, so long as I don't bug him about it, I basically shoved a flat golden moonstone gallet (flat oval stone) under the mattress, in roughly the space that would line up with his solar plexus.  Likewise, I shoved a second one under my side of the bed, also lined up with my solar plexus.  The intention that I set was for both of us to be supported and balanced at the solar plexus and to rectify any fe/male power imbalance. 

 

Wow, I'm happy to say, he responded almost immediately.  His yang is evening out now, and let me tell you, I'm grateful.  Since he is unaware of this work (and he doesn't read my blog), I cannot chalk the shift in him to "suggestion".  I did also put a tourmalinated quartz under the mattress, up by his head, but otherwise, nothing else changed from one week to the next.  My guess is that all the actual solar activity and geomagnetic stuff is kicking up a shit storm of yangy-ness in men who might tend to get pushed off-balance at the solar plexus (control/will/power) by stress to the system. 

 

I highly recommend using the golden moonstone in a "his and her" mattress set in exactly the way I have tried it.  You might want to make sure you take your vitamins too, cause when "his and her" issues are in balance, it tends to get "bow chika wow wow", if you know what I mean.

(1/20/15--Tales from the future.  The Golden Moonstone did not save my marriage.  I've been divorced since 6/9/14, but the year before I left, when the ex-hubs was particularly unstable, I did notice that the golden moonstone did even him out for a small length of time.  I'm sure it helped me to have the courage to get out of dodge when it was clear I couldn't stay.  For what it's worth... SC.)

Sunstone, moonstone, and labradorite are all cousins in the mineral family called feldspar. As the names imply, sunstone is associated with the sun, moonstone the moon. Labradorite represents the stars, especially the material from Madagascar which may contain specks of pyrite. That's sure a lot of sky in one stone family!

 

This golden yellow feldspar is an interesting paradox. In many traditions, yellow represents the sun and masculine energy. However almost all colorful forms of feldspar are called moonstones in the market, which is associated with the feminine. Hence the trade name yellow golden moonstone. It would be a good tool to harness the monthly sun and moon cycle, especially new moon, when only the sun is visible. These celestial bodies are also metaphors for the flow of energy in the body. Use golden yellow moonstone to balance the chakras, nadi (the channels that connect the chakras), and kundalini.

Its golden color connects it to prosperity, especially those working through childhood, emotional, or dysfunctional family patterns connected to money. Also the Navel Chakra, depicted as yellow in contemporary sources, which rules the intellect, identity, and energy levels. Work with golden yellow moonstone to reduce worry and stress, which may throw off third chakra associated body parts like the stomach.

Indigo Gabbro

It's Awesomite...

So far, there is one rock on the rough rock table that is the most exciting new rock find for me in a long, long time. It's called indigo gabbro and is a type of basalt-like rock from Madagascar. Man, oh, man... if you've been in the store since mid-November, and I was aware that you were "sensitive", I have likely plopped these stones in your hands already. They don't look like much at all, but if you are remotely sensitive to rock energy, once you hold them in your hands, you'll discover that these are smack-your-fanny strong. When I first held the Indigo in both hands (on 11/11), I literally felt as if my feet were being pulled down into floor. It was such deep grounding that it feels like suction is created for higher energies to just bolt through you and into the Earth.

Indigo Gabbro is known by another "trademarked" name, which by nature of the trademark process, I will not reveal. It has been successfully marketed in the metaphysical population by this alternative name, but the actual mineralogical name of the stone is "indigo gabbro". I described rose quartz once as being a non-dramatic, gentle stone that was NOT like a wizard with sparks flying off its fingers. Well, indigo gabbro IS the wizard with sparks flying off its fingers. You can buy it for $5 a hunk at the store, sold by its proper name, or you can pay 28 times that amount for the same stone under the "metaphysically marketed" name. Whatever. You have choices and choices are good.  It's all awesomite to me.

I have worked with the indigo gabbro since November and it's one of the best "technical workers" I've ever seen.  If you do any kind of energy healing, energy channeling, Reiki, global lightwork, or so on, you would greatly amplify the "gush" moving through you if you held an indigo gabbro in each hand.  The downward spiral vortex that it creates directly beneath you makes YOU a potent bridge or anchor of higher vibrational energies moving through you and into the Earth.  If you are doing energy work on someone else, have THEM hold the two stones and it will suck far more of a flow of energy through you than usual.  The same movement of energy that the indigo gabbro facilitates seems to  align you with your core Pillar of Light and allows you to be in perfect balance and harmony between the spiritual and the physical.  It's hard to see from the photos, but indigo gabbro isn't just black.  It's got flashes of violet, white, gold, all sorts of stuff going on in there.  Would you believe that they make kitchen counter tops out of this stuff? 

The second "hot" protocol for using indigo gabbro is by allowing the downward spiral vortex it creates to help you attune fully to any other rock energy.  If you hold one indigo gabbro in your right hand (or whichever one you feel is your grounding hand...) and then hold whatever other rock in your left hand, you will wash your entire energy field in the vibration of the stone in your alternate hand.  This is a pretty big deal, actually.  Imagine the range of applications.  The indigo gabbro would modulate whatever energy, even moldavite, to a usable format within your system.  Very, very useful.

I also very much like the indigo gabbro in crystalline grids.  I haven't had pieces small enough for your average table top grid, but I did put a super large grid together at a workshop the other month at the Prama Institute.  The grid was intended to be an Love/Earth Healing grid that about 20 yoginis and I anchored through to send love to the planet.  I had a large rose quartz flame at the center, large selenite rods as the spokes in the wheel, large natural labradorite, with some other smaller stones... but under--and in alignment with--the grid on the table, I had 7 large hunks of indigo gabbro that I got from the warehouse that were probably 5 lbs each.  It was a powerful experience, and when we left the building that night, I saw a large vortex that was visible, reaching far above the building and into the sky--even though the grid had been taken down.    I suspect that the indigo gabbro's deep downward spiral vortex action takes crystalline grid energy fields and imprints them on the Earth Herself, even after the stones are physically absent.  Could the indigo gabbro facilitate permanent bridges of Light to be anchored into the Earth?  I don't know, but it's a working theory at the moment.  When I learn more, I'll yack about it.

Potent stuff.  Amazing technical workers.  Yeah, don't take my word for it though.  Head on over to the rough rock table in the store and just put two in your hands and "let it rip".  We do have some available on eBay for my friends that are not local, but they are the 5 lb pieces .  Still... very nice.  If you get one big hunk, try using that as the center stone in a grid, or under the table of a smaller grid in alignment with the center of the top grid.  Trust me, you'll see what I mean.  Not subtle.  You could also take one of those 5lb hunks and put it directly under a massage table during sessions or under a chair during Reiki attunements (definitely awesome).  Play with it.  I am hoping that on Nader's next trip to Madagascar, he will get much more of this material in smaller sizes so that we can grid them in normal sized grids.  Ooooo.
